Morgen Stiegler sings with a passion. A passion for sharing
emotions and meaning through music. Her singing
strives for those moments of communications; whether with the
listening audience, the musicians she performs with, or the keen
ears of her daughter. Morgen works professionally as the
vocalist and pianist and studies jazz-voice with Kim Nazarian of
the New York Voices and jazz repertoire with guitarist Chris
Buzzelli. She has learned in master classes and workshops with
Justin Binek, Sunny Wilkinson, SJ Hasman-Selby, and Jennifer
Barnes.
She is one half of the duo Dissonant Grace and serves as the
groups vocalist, pianist, and principal songwriter. Her
compositions have been covered by a various ensembles and appear
on a number of recordings. Currently a graduate student in
Bowling Green University’s Ethnomusicology program, researching
in particular the Native American influence on Jazz; she also
serves as the graduate assistant to the Jazz Performance Studies
Program. She appears regularly with guitarists Chris
Buzzelli and Douglas J. Neel.
She has directed, and arranged for vocal jazz & a cappella
ensembles. As
member of the award-winning vocal ensembles, Morgen has performed with the New York Voices, m-pact, Naturally
7, Robert Lockwood Jr, Sean Altman (formerly of Rockapella),
Howie Day and
worked with Duane Davis, Diana Spradling, and Frank Mantooth. As
a soloist Morgen has had the opportunity to share the stage with
such accomplished performers as Kim Nazarian (New York Voices), Jay Ashby (Paul Simon, Astrud
Gilberto), Kevin DiSimone (Bob James, Barry Manilow) Marcello
Pellittieri (Joe Henderson, Gypsy Kings), Klaus Mueller (Kenny
Garrett, Joan Osbourne), Kip Reed (Donna Summers, Tania Maria), Ray Porello (Sammy Davis Jr.), David Bixler, Jeff Halsey,
Olman Piedra and George
