A classically trained cellist and guitarist, now singer and bassist; theo is a native of East Germany, where he grew up listening to gospel and Bach.  He sings, plays stringed instruments (guitar, bass, cello) occasionally tenor saxophone and experiments with vocal bass, vocal percussion and live looping of all of the above.  Theo arranges much of the material performed in Dissonant Grace, a duo project featuring his wife Morgen.  As a member of various ensembles Theo has toured in five Central American countries, Europe, Taiwan, and South Africa; performing in venues including the Birdland in Hamburg, Rusty's Jazz Cafe in Toledo, Regina Mundi in Soweto, das Schlot in Berlin, the presidential residences in Taipei and San Jose, and the United Nations and WHO in Geneva along the way.

Theo has work as a sound engineer since the mid-1990s in a variety of formats and settings from assistant engineer to FOH to live recordist...  He has had the privilege to mix shows for artists as divers as:  New York Voices, Jamey Haddad's All Star Sextet, Beau Bristow, Kim Nazarian, Ilona Knopfler, Lauren Kinhan, Scott Wendholt, Darmon Meader, Chris Buzzelli, Dick Oats, Sunny Wilkinson, Peter Eldridge, Morgen Stiegler and the Toledo Jazz Orchestra with sidemen including Jay Ashby (Paul Simon), Mark Soskin (Sonny Rollins), Paul Nowinski (Les Paul), Marcello Pellitierri (Gypsy Kings), Ray Porello (Sammy Davis Jr.), Olman Piedra (Nomo), Kip Reed (Donna Summers), Klaus Mueller (Joan Osborne), Jeff Halsey (Clark Terry), Kevin DiSimone (Barry Manilow), Roger Schupp (Ronnie Milsap), David Bixler (Chico O'Farrill), Alain Mallet (Phil Woods) and Marty Ashby (Nancy Wilson).  He has assisted at the boards for M-pact, Naturally 7 and Sean Jones.   

Theo has also been responsible for scheduling, sound, logistics, and works/worked as technical director, public and artist relations manager & fills various other roles for The BGSU New York Voices vocal jazz camp, the World Vision Youth Ambassadors 1998-2000, various festivals (Soulshine Blues) and concert series including the Tiffin University and BGSU Arts Village Concert Series.  

He is currently working on the Second Annual BGSU New York Voices vocal jazz camp to be held on the BGSU campus in August 2010 as well as various other projects.
