About the Camp

The 4th annual Bowling Green State University New York Voices Vocal Jazz Camp will be held July 30th - August 5, 2012 at the Moore Musical Arts Center of the College of Musical Arts on the campus of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Evening performances and concerts will be held in Bryan Recital Hall and other venues on the BGSU campus.

This unique camp is open to high school students, professional musicians, choral directors and anyone interested in improving and developing their knowledge of the vocal jazz genre.

Accommodations:

1) On-campus student housing is available.  Meals will be offered in on-campus dining locations.  Restaurants near campus include everything from fast food to Sushi, Mexican, Italian and more. On-campus meal plans will be available for the duration of the camp.

2) Accommodations are offered at various area hotels.

Sessions:

You will have the opportunity to work in 1:1 sessions and master classes with members of New York Voices; participate in daily coachings on interpretation and improvisation of vocal jazz, sing in Open Mic sessions and as part of a vocal jazz ensemble. You may even come as a pre-established group. (FYI, to make the most of your camp experience, you will be expected to prepate two jazz standards or similar selections.
